“ Stopped here for lunch while touring downtown Richmond. I’ve heard of this place before. Awesome place! The bockwurst is delicious, especially with the red cabbage. Amazing beer selection too! The bockwurst is actually two but I ate one - I was starving. ”
“ Came here for a team dinner. The hostess worked with us to seat us without a reservation, and our waitress was accommodating with our requests for separate checks. The food was delicious and the drinks were thirst-quenching. Will most likely be back. ”
“ As a Richmond newbie, I find this place to be my go-to when meeting up with friends and colleagues. The upstairs is diner style with a large draft menu and a concert venue attached via double doors. The basement is more secluded with darts and billiards and a more intimate/secluded bar setting. Outside is an adorable patio that is pet friendly and has its own entrance. It seems to be smoke friendly out there as well. The staff keeps it very clean with quick and kind service. It's nice to have a bar where the appetizers are genuinely enjoyable. ”
“ Food was great ! I can recommend the loaded fries, they were amazing. Our waiter was Zach, he was attentive and was friendly and helpful. The only blot on the night was the noise from the band playing, it was hard to talk and we had a 9yr old with us who was overwhelmed by the noise. Not really a good place to take kids but adults, yes ! ”
“ Great place for happy hour! 50 cent wings, which is what they should cost. Not too long ago chicken wings were considered garbage and thrown away, along with potato skins. 2 per wing is too much, 50 cents is just right. Also one of the only nice places in the otherwise pretty destitute city of Richmond. ”
“ Loved this place. Relaxed atmosphere and ambience. The food was too good. We ordered fish tacos, chicken schnitzel, fried chicken sandwich and apple pie for dessert. All the dishes were very tasty. ”
“ Really good selection of beers, especially local beers throughout Virginia. Had the Hardwood Park Brewing The Great Return IPA, which was quite good. Bartender had great recommendations. The flat bread pizza was good. Would go again. ”
“ Great Burger Apple pie I had a great time at *Capital Ale*! I tried the *blue and black steak salad*, and it was delicious—the steak was perfectly cooked, and the flavors of the blue cheese were a fantastic combination. The *chicken tenders* were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, definitely one of the best I’ve had. For dessert, I couldn’t resist trying the *apple pie*, and it was the perfect way to end the meal—sweet and comforting. The service was friendly and attentive, though I would recommend coming without a rush. Overall, a great spot to enjoy hearty food in a relaxed setting. I’ll definitely be back! ”
